How to Stay Motivated and Inspired in Your Yoga Teaching

How to Stay Motivated and Inspired in Your Yoga Teaching

When you’re a yoga teacher, it can be easy to lose motivation. The hours are long, the pay is often minimal, and you’re constantly surrounded by people in spandex. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) How can you stay motivated and inspired in your yoga teaching? Here are 11 tips.

11 Ways to Stay Motivated and Inspired in Your Yoga Teaching

Have Your Practice Time

Having your practice time is essential to keeping your motivation up. When you’re a yoga teacher, it can be easy to let your own practice slide, but don’t do it.

Dedicate at least an hour each day to your own personal practice. This will help you stay connected to your own journey and keep the inspiration flowing.

Find Your Sangha

It is important to have a supportive community of people who understand what you’re going through. Find your sangha, whether it be online or in person. These people will help keep you inspired and motivated.

Attend Yoga Teacher Trainings

When you’re constantly surrounded by amazing yoga teachers, it can be hard not to get inspired. Attending yoga teacher trainings is a great way to stay inspired and motivated. Not only will you learn lots of new things, but you’ll also be surrounded by inspiring people.

Create a Vision Board

A vision board is a great way to keep your goals in focus. When you have a physical representation of what you want to achieve, it’s easier to stay motivated. Create a vision board that represents your yoga teaching goals.

Set Goals

One of the best ways to stay motivated is to set goals. When you have something to work towards, you’re more likely to achieve it. Set both short-term and long-term goals for your yoga teaching.

Find a Mentor

A mentor can be an invaluable resource when it comes to staying motivated and inspired in your yoga teaching. Find someone who is doing what you want to do and ask them how they did it.

Read Yoga Teacher Blogs

When you’re looking for inspiration, there’s nothing better than reading yoga teacher blogs. You’ll be inspired by their stories and learn lots of new things.

Take a Yoga Retreat

A yoga retreat is a perfect way to recharge your batteries and get inspired. When you’re surrounded by amazing teachers and students, it’s hard not to get fired up about teaching yoga.

Watch Inspiring Yoga Videos

There are lots of inspiring yoga videos online that can help keep you motivated. Watch one before your class or when you’re feeling a little unmotivated.

Attend Workshops and Conferences

Workshops and conferences are a great way to learn new things and get inspired. When you’re surrounded by amazing teachers, it’s easy to stay motivated.

Set Up a Home Practice Space

When you have a designated space for your home practice, it’s easier to stick to it. Set up your space so that it inspires you and makes you want to practice.

These are just a few of the ways that you can stay motivated and inspired in your yoga teaching. What works for you may be different than what works for someone else, so find what works best for you and go with it. And most importantly, don’t forget to enjoy the journey.
